taming the tongue

Psalm 139:3-5 : You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my TONGUE you know it completely, O LORD. You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

Peace

My husband and I went walking in Stanley Park last week....this tree struck us....well, not literally...trees are stationary and there wasn't a heavy wind, so actually the tree just looked amazing and we decided to take it's photo. Made us feel blessed to live with such beauty at an arm's length.

Group homes, grace, and God

After running a group home for over three years now, I have come to the conclusion that there is not one person on the face of the earth that can survive without the grace of God. Yes, the Bible says so, too, but now I really understand it. How an individual can possibly try to solve life's hard questions and decision-making by their own intelligence is beyond me. I don't want that responsibility. I'd rather get it right the first time by following the example of Jesus Christ. He certainly had it figured out....probably because He's God, but hey....He DID experience every temptation and hurt that I have gone through on earth and equipped me with the same capacity to overcome the crap in this world by the work and filling of His Holy Spirit. I'd say that's pretty cool. How did I get all this from running a group home? Well, 12 kids + 12 crazy behaviours+ 12 parenting styles+ everything in between = life by God's grace.

My handsome hubby man going into battle....

This is my handsome husband...his blog is www.timmybomb.blogspot.com ...he's got some pretty cool pictures posted. I like this one in particular. If he ever goes into battle, I know his cranium will be protected.

Striking, aren't we?

(I'm the bigger one in the photograph) This is a classic photoshop experiement....fun times. It's one of my favorite photos!

.....but here, the fingers do the talking!

First blog. I was told this was a good way to avoid mass e-mails when something interesting occurs in one's life. Great! We'll see where this goes!
